Shipping, Payment, and Return Policies

Shipping:
We ship with UPS (daily pickup) and US Postal Service (we deliver to Post Office).
Other shippers are an option. Since we have no daily pickup with them actual shipping might be delayed by a day because of cutoff times for same day pickup.
FEDEX: Cutoff time is 1 pm. Because of Fedex procedures and order processing time we will need to receive your order by 10 am for shipping on same day.
DHL: Similar situation then with Fedex, no shipments any more inside the US.
We can ship on your account with one of these shippers. There will be a charge of $20 for out of country shipments when shipping on your account.
All shipments are insured for their invoice value. Offshore shipments ship with forms for customs, declared value according to invoice.
Here is a price comparison between Express Mail and UPS Worldwide Express on shipping a Meiji Techno GEM scope to Europe. Our cart calculates $164 packed as 2 boxes. The same 2 boxes with UPS are $383. Only the larger box is effected by dimensional weight.
Locations in the United States:
opspe.com - One shopping cart (yellow background) calculates shipping to lower continental US only. Locations in the US but outside of this area are not calculated . See this page for more details and additional cost.

This is covered by a second cart with green background, calculation is for Australia and Asia. For Europe you might want to use OpticalSpecialities.be .

Payment Options:
We accept many payment options: All major credit cards, PayPal, bank transfer. We accept PayPal from confirmed addresses only.
On Credit Card Payments shipping address needs to match confirmed address or card billing address.
Only shipping options with tracking are permitted when using PayPal or Credit Cards.
Electronically processed shipments come with a confirmation number. But, if scanned  into the Postal database, tracking ends mostly when the package leaves the US Postal Service en route to another.country. Canada is currently the only country outside the US with end to end tracking for Priority Mail.
Payment by bank transfer would also allow us to ship without tracking but because of bank charges that is only acceptable above $800. Because of high insurance cost and low limits for Priority Mail we can as well ship with Express Mail since there will be no savings in almost all cases.

Return Policy:
Returns for refund need to be complete with associated packaging, manuals etc. as originally shipped. Improperly handled parts and/or missing parts or packaging will not qualify for a refund. The returned item needs to be in resellable condition.
Returned items must be received within 30 days from original invoice or shipment date. Shipping cost is not refundable.
To get a Return Merchandise Authorization please supply our invoice number and specific reason for return. We need to know if you encountered a problem or why the device was not suitable for your project.
The RMA # needs to be clearly visible on the outside of the package. Returns without authorization will not be processed.
